We still have space in our second Outdoor Leadership Course this summer! From August 5th through August 18th, the OLC program is an opportunity for teens to experience GAC in a whole new way.
This program is an extended backpacking excursion designed to get teen campers out into the awesome expanse of nature in the beautiful Sierra National Forest. It is led by specially trained counselors and places special emphasis on leadership skills. OLC participants spend several days at camp training on backcountry skills like navigation, water purification, and outdoor cooking. They also attend educational sessions focused on leadership before heading out on the trail for 7 days and 6 nights. Prior trips have featured the John Muir Wilderness, Pacific Coast Trail, and Yosemite National Park. Following the conclusion of their trip, OLC campers come back to camp for a nice hot shower, debriefing and reflection, the dance, and Appreciation Campfire.
